Cerenion welcomes esteemed visitors from Japan and Finland

This past week was a week of meeting new friends from both near and far for Cerenion at Oulu. We were delighted to welcome a delegation from Tohoku University Hospital in the City of Sendai, Japan, and Mr. Jyri Häkämies, the former Minister of Economic Affairs of Finland, former Minister of Defence of Finland and now Director General of the Confederation of Finnish Industries EK.
The Japanese delegation led by Cerenion’s advisor Prof. Atsuhiro Nakagawa, MD, included expert members from emergency medicine, radiology, neurology, anesthesiology, intensive care, neurosurgery and regulatory affairs. The discussion confirmed the clear need for Cerenion’s technology and provided us with great insight on the Japanese healthcare environment. The opportunity for the meeting arose out of long-standing collaboration between the City of Oulu in Finland and the City of Sendai in Japan. The two cities have had a co-incubation agreement since 2005. This year also marks the 100th anniversary in diplomatic relations between Japan and Finland.
The meeting with Mr. Häkämies focused on Cerenion’s path to the present day and the way forward. We are grateful for the generous and insightful advice we received from Director General Häkämies on business development and internationalization, in particular.
Both visits were facilitated by BusinessOulu, to whom we extend our warmest thanks.
